Do not underestimate home remodeling. Depending on the job's size, the work can seem intense and intrusive. It is important to keep in mind why you are putting yourself and your family through this trouble and hassle: for a beautiful new kitchen, bathroom, or basement. Besides keeping the vision of your new room in the forefront of your mind, you should also take some steps to prepare for comfortably getting through your renovation.
Create a safe space for kids and pets – There is often a large mess associated with renovations. Walls are taken down, fixtures removed, and floors ripped up. Dust, dirt, debris, and even mold can be present during the demolition part of renovations, so you want to make sure young children and pets do not have to be in that area. Prepare areas or rooms the day or night before, so you have all the things you need to care for your loved ones. You may want to consider planning for a pet babysitter in extreme situations.
Easy to eat food – If you are renovating a kitchen, cooking isn't an option. Even if you are having work done on a single bathroom, you still want to be able to grab something to eat or snack on quickly. Because of the work being done, it may not be easy to access your kitchen and do large grocery shops easily.
Consider your air quality – doing renovations kicks up much stuff into the air that you probably don't want to breathe. It would help if you considered keeping windows open, purchasing a portable air filtration system, or even wearing HEPA filter masks when walking around the home. Even if you cannot see the dust or dirt in the air, your lungs can feel them.Related Reading
